Bob serves as Executive Director of Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services’ Employee Assistance and Church Assistance programs. Prior to that, he was President of Crisis Care Network, the world’s largest provider of Critical Incident Response services to the workplace. He managed CCN’s Command Center in Manhattan after the 2001 terrorist attacks and has led teams in response to some of our nation’s worst tragedies including the Boston Marathon bombing; Aurora, Sandy Hook, and Las Vegas shootings; natural disasters, and prominent university-based tragedies. Bob is an active keynote speaker, and has published and been quoted in business and clinical journals, co-authored book chapters addressing workplace response to tragedy, and has been featured as subject matter expert in numerous video training series. He speaks to, and consults with businesses, universities, schools, and churches regarding how leaders can accelerate organizational recovery following crises. Bob also addresses international audiences from a variety of professions and industries including the United States Senate – Peer Disaster Committee, Harvard University’s World Extreme Medicine Conference, Zurich Military Contractor Forum, the World Bank, the United States Coast Guard, the International Crisis and Risk Communication Conference, Employee Assistance Professional Association’s World Conference, The Conference Board of Canada – Council of Emergency Management, Peru Seguridad de Minera International Conference on Mining Safety, the National Safety Council World Congress, National Association of Church Business Administrators, and Christian Schools International. bob.vandepol@pinerest.org

Jolene is the widow of David DeHeer - Biology Professor at Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She is a beloved author, a renowned and highly sought after speaker, and is considered one of the freshest motivational and inspirational speakers available today! Her dynamic life stories and practical insights move the listener from side-holding laughter to heart-felt tears. Jolene has been the keynote for events such as the Annual Christian Reformed World Missionaries Conference in Africa, Christian Schools International, Kid’s Hope, and countless conventions and conferences for leaders and students across the U.S. and Canada. Colleges and youth groups reschedule and plan retreats based on her availability. Jolene teaches “Navigating Widowhood Successfully” at Calvin University, and is one of the keynote speakers each year at “A Life After Breath Experience” Widow’s Retreat in West Michigan. Jolene and David have one son and two granddaughters. She attends La Grave Avenue CRC in Grand Rapids where she lives with her spoiled cat Isabella. Dan graduated from Ferris State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, and has been employed as a Certified Public Accountant for thirty years. He considers the relationships that have been established and nurtured through those many years of coming alongside his clients, a privilege and his greatest personal reward. Dan is happily married to his wife of 28 years, Mary Jo, and has three adult children. They love traveling and spending time with their kids. Dan is very active in his church and regularly serves on various committees and in leadership roles. His favorite Scripture is Romans 8:28. Dan is the “numbers man” for “Matters of Life and Breath,” for which Susan, (Founder & Ex. Dir.) who is not a “numbers person” is eternally grateful! Dale earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, and his M.B.A. from the University of Michigan School of Business. He is a Corporate Attorney at Varnum Law in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with extensive experience in the areas of nonprofit and tax exempt entities. Dale works with a wide range of exempt organizations including charities, social service agencies, cultural and civic institutions, educational organizations, foundations, health organizations, clubs and associations, and religious organizations. He also advises on various topics ranging from permissible political and lobbying activities, drafting of waivers, releases and consents, to special rules applicable to private foundations, as well as areas of general corporate and business transactions with a focus on closely-held family businesses.
